Caddy Mechanic Northstar:Detroit
Hi gang,
I've got a 02 SLS with Northstar engine with 176K on the clock. The symptoms are: it overheats.
The engine needs work or to be replaced. (I had it into AutoLab) The determination after test showed exhaust had coolant in such.
OK, I know it needs to be overhauled. Yet I have had pricing that is way out of the park (Autolab wanted 8K which included some powersteering work too). D&S Engine in Troy, MI wants about$6K
I'm more than willing to spend good money yet my budget is about tops: 4K for this operation.
Other than that, my SLS looks like new!
If you know of a private party or shop that is not only highly qualified and fussy but also reasonable, please let me know.
