Just got a 09 cts-v. It's the blackest black I have ever seen. Any good tips on keeping it that way? I cover it when not in use. Thanks.

make sure inside of cover is clean, for sure. i've seen that do more harm than good if not clean.

other things to do..............DONT TOUCH IT................ lol

black is tuff,

avoid car washes, needless to say.

i myself, like MeQuires products. sometimes wax seems to build up, and a good buffing is needed, so watch how often you apply.

hope it helps

the easiest way to destroy such a finish is .. power buffers, detail shops, bicycles in the garage, and bird crap (ACID) ! ! !

Hi,
Congrats on getting a spec-v. As noted NEVER run it through a car wash.
I hand wash using Mequire products. Dry with a gel blade and a lamb skin.
I use Eagle one's Nano Wax with great results. Mequires quick detailer in between waxings. Nothing seems to stick to the car. My car is dark ming blue and the depth of shine is awesome. My friend uses the same stuff on his black stage 3 Roush mustang and it looks fantastic.

Just to make sure you understand, he means REAL LAMB SKIN .. the synthetics skins are .. well .. not as soft. Make darn sure you rinse the skin well, real well when you are done.

Eagle One is my product of choice on all my black cars and I got more than one.

I rarely "buff" a car and when I do, I avoid ridges & edges as the paint thickness there is minimal at the same time the buffing there, is more aggressive and one can easily compromise the top coat.
