I know this is crazy, but I wanted to know what is the worst interest rate any of you have ever received for a purchase of anything car, home, credit card...anything?

 

interest rate is subject to your personal credit score (isaac score)...... and the max interest rate will vary by state. in auto loans, the older the car, most likely the higher the rate, depending on your credit score.

I got transfered from WAMU to Chase and they doubled my rate to 29.99% without one single late payment or over limit. I'm pi$$ed but they can do what they want....

 

they dont need a late pmt to do that.

they can do that for simply applying for a loan or for someone doing a credit check on you. Obscene practice, but a very real practice.

I thnik I paid 12% on a car loan back in '94. That was before I'd established any credit at all. I know I'm an exception but I always pay off my one and only credit card every month. I never buy more than I can afford to pay off. I've never paid interest on a credit card. They hate me!
I got the 05 CTS loan down to 4%. Regards, Mike.
