Standing Family Tradition -

Get up 6:30am, stay in pj's, fresh flaky hot biscuits, hot chocolate, eggs, roast beef, etc,
turn TV on KTLA, enjoy the prep of the start of the parade. always the very best part.

Couldnt wait to see the kick off by the group of kids "Up With the People" followed by the
BSA Eagle Scouts 103 strong displaying the flags of every State, followed by the Western Group riders
in correct period outfits of the western days and the U.S. Marine Corps Mounted Color Guard.

Up with the People provides a 45 second kick off performance - ONLY done once at the kick off.

Then came the PACE car .. an Honda Accord ... aghggg .. ewwwww .. aagghhghghghghgh
then i see Mr. Eubanks and I dont see Stephanie Edwards (I miss her, again)..
now it is KTLA's Michaela Pereira, the most irritating and obnoxious local personality I can think off ...

NEW TRADITION Option 1 ..

Eat / drink while watching the kick off of the Rose Parade, Scouts, Marines, and Western Group.
immediately turn off TV and enjoy the sunshine of the morning.

after the honda pace car, no float seems worth looking at ..
i'll just look for the Cal Poly Float on the net later.

or maybe go to the park where the floats end up at.

Don't know if you "caught it" but I heard the term "American Honda" at least 50 times!

 

Cant say i did. I clicked the set off and walked away.
One of MY American cars needed my attention more than I needed to endure the honda thing..
