GM - Nissan - Renault Cooperation

GM - Nissan - Renault Cooperation
The business sections of newspapers are full of reports about the proposed cooperation between GM and Nissan and Renault. Nissan and Renault each want to take a 10 % (or was it 20 %) stake in GM.
I wonder how does everyone here feel about this? Would you really want to drive a GM car knowing it has the motor from, say, a Nissan Altima and components from a Renault? Would this make anyone turn their backs on GM?

RE: GM - Nissan - Renault Cooperation
Component swapping between corporations is not new. Every car maker today is doing it. Examples: The Toyota Matrix and the Pontiac Vibe are the same car mechanically. Some Jaguar parts are sourced from Ford. Opel cars in Europe turn into Chevys here. Isuzu and Honda built sister SUV's, the Passport and I can't remembe what the Isuzu was.
GM's Saturn Division: The Vue has a Honda motor.
Sometimes, the sharing of components could be good. It depends on the situation. Then again, how would you really know if it was a Nissan part or a GM part?
