Exclamation Fraud, Buyer Beware!!!! Aberto Moretti from Greece

I have a fraud report. The seller calls himself Alberto Moretti. He tried to sell me a 2005 Cadillac Deville. He poses as a person who moved his family to Greece and has the vehicle in his possession. From there he was willing to ship the vehicle to my place of choice. He sent me an official looking shipping transaction with a request to have 2850 wired to him prior to sending the vehicle. This is fraudulent and I want action.

im guessing he tried to buy a car from someone in another country (very bad idea) and the guy scamed him outa money and wants something done.

1) this cant be resolved here on this site.

2) since the crime is technically been committed in "Greece" (or most of the time Nigeria and they use another country name to fool you) nothing can be done from the country you live in.

3) All you can do is report this guy to as many people you can to warn them of this event and hope you dont fall for it again.

4) Always buy cars locally its your best and safest bet. my generall rule of thumb is if i cant drive there with in a reasonable amount of time to look at what im buying then its too Damn far and risky to deal with.

in this day and age anything can be forged and look like an authentic piece of paper especially in an EMAIL. if you can't touch or feel these doc(u)ments in person then its at your own risk when dealling with this kind of stuff.

my girlfriend went through this stuff about 4 years ago and was sent 5 checks in the amount of $500 a piece. the guy said he sold a painting to someone in the U.S. and he lived in europe somewhere and needed to have the checks cashed and the money wired to him through western union since he cant cash U.S. made checks in his country. we got the checks and they looked and felt legit but something caught my eye when she said that we would only be able to cash them at are bank. So i told her to only cash one and see if the check would clear which it did and i figured it would. 3 days later the chack turned out to be a frauded check and we had to give back the $500. i could only imagine having cashed all 5 checks and sending the money that same day and having to pay back $2500 we didnt have to begin with. So i did some research and these people live in nigeria and use fake emails and give out phony addresses from europe and when they get your money you get craped on. This also has been on 20/20 its been a long known scam and has claimed millions for these people in nigeria and unfortunely hurt many americans finacially.

Sorry for the long reply but i just want to let people be aware of these kinds of scams that are really to good to be true.

Default Buyer Beware!!!

Aberto Moretti from greece just tried to scam me out of 4000, only this time it was for a Ducati. Fortunately I did not money gram him the money as i suspected the deal was a scam. He used the website of a legitimate shipping company but the emails did not match up with the site listed. He used AJExhibitions.com as part of his scam.

Same guy ( Aberto Moretti )with the same story is trying to "sell" a BMW K1200LT for $4500. Here's a copy of an "Aberto Moretti" e-mail scam:

The bike is in excellent conditions, with everything working on it, the reason I selling the bike is that I bought the bike in United States and I moved in Greece with my family and my business. The bike is here in my garage, I can't drive and I can't sell the bike here because all do***ents are available in United States, I can't register the bike here. Now I can't come to the US to sell the bike because I'll lose a lot of time and money, my only chance to sell the bike is to find a buyer in the US. I can ship the bike to your home address, you'll get the bike in about 10 days working, the bike will stay in your custody 2 days and you can inspect it, then you decide if you buy the bike or not.
I am going to be responsible for transportation fees, so when you get the bike you'll inspect it and if will be problems with the bike you won't buy it, so I lose the transport fees, I know that my bike has no problem and you'll buy it. I use an international shipping company, they act as a third party and will protect both of us in this transaction. I tried to explain as best I can if you have another questions leave me your phone number and I'll call you.
The price is very good, you will not find another bike in such nice condition.

I'm waiting your e-mail, I hope to make a deal with you.

I found this thread using Google while researching this name, so once more for the sake of moving the scam up in Google's search engine: Aberto Moretti = scam, Aberto Moretti = scam, Aberto Moretti = scam.

Angry Aberto Moretti = Fraudster

On Sunday morning I was going to receive shipping details from Mr. Moretti about a transaction for a 2003 Indian Chief motorcycle. As I was checking out other Indian motorcycles tonight I noticed in Fort Worth Texas the very same bike. The background was the same on all photos and one photo has the serial number of the bike. (same number as the Moretti bike)
What a scam ... I already made arrangements at a motorcycle shop for a pre-inspection. I feel like an idiot.
