Default 2009 BMW X5 3.0i or Mercedes Benz ML350 4-Matic?

Hi, I know I should ask this in the cars section but I've only gotten 2 answers in the last hour and I know I'll get more here. I'll give 10 points to the best answer and it's pretty easy.
My family is looking for a replacement of our 2006 Cadillac SRX. We have narrowed it down to the 2009 BMW X5 3.0i and the 2009 Mercedes Benz ML 350 4 Matic. After looking at both vehicles extensively, we like the X5 more. It looks better inside and out and is more exciting than the Mercedes. The only problems are that:
No.1: Both of the cars are similarly equipped but the BMW is being given at $61,000 (no negotiating) while the Mercedes is being given at $48,000 (the dealer is ready to negotiate).
No.2: We had just bought a BMW 3-Series a little less than a year ago. So it might be boring having two BMWs because the X5 just feels like a bigger version of our 3-series (although it is basen on the 5-series).
So my question to you is: Is it still worth getting the BMW? We like it better, but we are just not sure if it is worth it because it is a lot more expensive than the Benz and because we already have a BMW.

Is the ML350 a good vehicle? Do you think it's better than the BMW? What is it's advantages? Disadvantages? What are the advantages of the X5? Disadvantages? Is it also a good vehicle?
