Just got an email from a Miriam Joseph from Abidjan Ivory coast asking to take care of 5 000 000 for her.Disturbing part is that she said she got my e mail from this site.Don,t feel this site is safe and will delete all cookies etc from here.her name is Miriam Joseph and this a SCAM!!!!.do not reply to it

 

Thanks for the heads up. As a practice I always delete cookies before signing off . I will be keeping an eye out for this scammer. Thanks again.

nothing wrong with this site. i got TWO computers on looking at this site 24/7.

a few things:

1. set your brower to delete all PRIVATE information, not just cookies.
set it to BLOCK POP-UPs, set it to only keep ONE day of history.

2. now and then, clean out your temp folders, the internet temp folers,
they ac***ulate a history of your travels. NO BROWSER will take
them all out. YOU have to do it manually.

3. IF THEY can read your cookies, you got something in your hard drive that
you shouldnt - time to clean up,

4. if you havent done it, get a ROUTER. best protection money can buy.

5. use common sense, behaviour is your best protection

i aint bragging, but my systems are on line 24/7, i use no ANTI-virus, NONE.

however,
- i have a router ($45),
- i do banking on line w/o any problems ever,
- i never open EXE or COM files unless i go and get them,
- i never open HTML files, in fact my system BLOCKS them,
until i check the email to make sure is not a prank.
- i tag all SPAM email as SPAM w/o opening it,
- if i dont see what i expect, i do not open email,
- on the 1st of the month i back up my DATA
i always have the last THREE back ups.
- and about every 3 months i scan just to be safe.
i do NOT find viruses in my system, havent found
any in years - remember, several systems on line 24/7 ?

 

I have a top of the line router;Temp files are deleted daily and have Norton anti virus.The disturbing part is that went into my regular e mail and not my bulk.I delete all bulk unopened.My computer is also on almost all the time.Iam on other forums and have not had a problem in years.I just find it unnerving that it was sent through this forum

 

i used to promote Norton, used too. very disappointed these days with it, VERY.

what you are describing is spyware not a virus and Norton aint going to do anything for you.

how are your temp files deleted?
you have got at least 3 locations, and i have yet to see software that gets all of it.

but please, do try #3 above. SCAN for spyware.

unless Patrick is selling the emails (better NOT) this site is not going to provide emails.
it just doesnt work that way.

can spyware on your hard drive provide it? yes, including the path
can your IP software provide it? yes, including the path
do you DELETE the BULK EMAIL or let it expire?
i suggest you DELETE. when it expires, who knows where it goes.

did you post your email anywhere?
an unscrupolous person can sign in and copy it manualy of the profile -
i choose to not show mine and provide it by request to members to protect it.

i have automated emails here and elsewhere, so when someone jingles my PM, i get a call
and an email. that tells me the email routing works perfectly.
i get no SCAM or SPAM emails, but get lots of forum emails.

however, there is a member in another site that gave my email to a SPAMER in China,
and that produces about 45 emails per day,
SPAM FILTER is ON and i get them into the BULK bucket and I EMPTY IT!
