Radio Phone Fuse fail 1996 Eldo
1996 Eldorado base mode Radio/Phone fuse failure
New Member-Hey guys have love this site and learned lots. Now I'm stumped and would appreciate any help in diagnosing cause
of fuse fail Radio/Phone (trunk location). I cannot find a visual or obvious short in Windows, Radio, Fuel Door Release, or Trunk Release switch or wiring. I have disconnected/reconnected window motors and disconnected/reconnected radio and all speakers as well searching for clues and baffled. And yes checked Valet Switch (This wouldn't cause fuse to snap anyway would it?)
Can a bad Window Relay cause a fuse to snap?
I do have a current code related to trans.? -I occasionally Clear PCM codes and Check Engine Light goes out as well as Traction Active if on. I disconnected AC after bearing failure during a trip a year ago and bypassed using a shorter serpentine belt so have AC codes also on occasion.
Could the -P0717Input Speed Sensor Circuit Low Input be related?
What is causing my Radio/Phone fuse (in trunk area) to keep blowing? No windows Radio Fuel door or Trunk rel.
It is an intermittent (sometimes lasts for an hour or so) failure, but persistent when I replace it (10 amp) it snaps and Blows hard - I'm Not loling. Really missing my windows and radio! Any help on how to diagnose appreciated.
Thanks ahead of time. Will

Wow amazing-
I guess I stumped at least a few of you as well as myself.
So far no one can give me advice on how to find the cause of a blown 10 A Radio/phone fuse on my 96 Eldo?
Not an electrician but I do have one available so any idea on how to test to find problem? Anyone?
-Also, when this fuse is blown the Bright Lights will not function.
-I also notice what seems to be a 'maybe more than normal' dimming of headlights when Brake is applied and running without Rad/Phone fuse installed and Low Beams Only are operating. I don't know if normal dimming due to brake light load but I never noticed it before in 30k miles.. just trying to find out if a blown Head/Tail or clearance or fog light could cause this fuse to snap intermittently.
I reinstalled door panels Windows and Front Speakers (Delco not Bose have 2 prong rather than 4 prong connectors) and rear stereo speakers connected-
NO fuse snap ...Yet... but am anticipating losing windows and radio soon on upcoming 1200 mi round trip.
Trying to find my way around this site yet as you may notice I am responding to my own Post.. Thanks if anyone has an idea.
One more thing- When I first got the car, used 90kmi The Horn beeped as alarm was activated a couple times so I disconnected Horn and ignored dash Security light when it comes on since... perhaps related. Stumped still to diagnose intermittent Radio Phone 10 fuse fail in 1996 Eldo base Model..
