Hi all i have a 1999 sts.the problem is i think the car is not reading the key and the car will not start it will crank over but not fire,on the dash its showing EXP 1033 and the security light is flashing,tried disconecting the battery also i left the ignition on for 10 minutes untill the security light stopped then switched the ignition on and off i was told that should work but i didnt,any idea's thanks julian

 

if the key you are using ever worked before, then it is not the key....even if the car were not reading the key, i think she would start, but will not stay running.... imo...
hang in, and maybe another tech will jump in with some info.....

yes im sure its the the original key black with the cadillac emblem it has pk3 stamped on the steel part and the remote with it works fine and looking at the wear on the key and on the remote looks like it has been with the car from new.
