Hello all, I have a 98 Deville base model and I need to know the pulley size on the alternator in order to replace it. I would like to buy one and remove and re[place it all in one shot, so I don't want to pull it and measure. Could someone let me know a way to find out the size? Would a dealership know by the VIN?

 

Maybe, the VIN should give the part number of the replacement alternator. There maybe a note related to pulley size. You don't need to pull it to measure pulley. I would not mail order it pick it up locally; so if there is a problem it can be corrected quickly. If the alternator doesn't work, I would remove it and take it with me to get new one. 1 I can match it up to be sure it's correct and 2 no core charge to pay.
