Stranded in my 2014 Cts coupe.
So I am working a little more than 2 hours north of the Minneapolis/St.Paul area and am leaving to drive home from the job site and I have a flat tire when I come out. Well as some of you may know they don't include a spare tire with the new coupes just a electric air pump that has fix a flat built into it. Well the rear tire was punctured on the side wall and I could barely keep enough air in there to get to a local tire repair place. I called Cadillac and they wanted to tow me 30 miles further north to a dealership up there, but no one could tell me whether they had a tire for the car or not, or whether the tire was covered under any warranty, and that the dealership would have to figure that out. I decided to stay where I was for the night. The next morning I called the dealership they wanted to tow me to, and they said 3 to 5 days to get a tire, and couldn't tell me whether something like this was under warranty or not. I know I can buy a road hazard warranty when I buy a new set of tires, but was not sure whether that was included on a new vehicle. I ended up having to get a ride down to the twin cities where Discount tire couldn't find anything either until he checked one other source he said he had, and he found one. It was $250 plus tax, I then had to get a ride all the way back up to my car the next day bringing the tire with me, in order to get it fixed.
It would sure seem to me that someone should have been able to tell me whether it was warranty covered, or that a dealership would offer to take a tire off another car at their lot and put it on mine rather then tell me 3-5 days. So I guess if I had let them tow me to that dealership I would have been staying at a hotel for 3-5 days waiting on a tire?? That warm fuzzy feeling I had with my Cadillac just vanished.... along with some of my money....
