Default Service ride control?

Yesterday my '96 Deville Concours displayed "Service Ride Control" on the dash info panel. I know that sensors adjust the ride control, but how critical is this and is it a safety issue? Thanks for any help.

Car has electric shock dampenening system for improved handling. If you drive like you have some sense it's not as critical, but you should at least find out what is wrong. If you fall in to the AGGRESSIVE DRIVER class, you need to get corrected. Something to check own your own? Make sure sensor links are attached to the control arms.
