My 1997 STS engine has died and I am finding it rather hard to find a good engine of the same year. I don't what to spend the money it would take to purchase a rebuild into the car given its age but thought that if I could find a good used unit at the right price that may be a good option. Can anyone tell me what years of engine will fit without too much screwing around?

1996 to 1999 beware salavage yard motors i had bad luck with 3 yep put in 3 diffrent motors and all!! had blown head gaskets and they swore that they were good i finlly just did the hg myself man!! what a lot of work i am now doing headgasket jobs with the northstar performance stud kit perment fix i live in newburgh ny is intrested contact me
