Replacement of 1999 Seville STS battery
Hello all,
My nephew is out-of-town and left his STS in my garage for about 4 months. I forgot to start and run it for awhile and now the battery is dead and I couldn't re-charge it. I want to buy a new battery for this car, but I was unable to open the passenger's back seat (where battery located per User manual). I even called the AAA towing service and he couldn't open either. Before call the dealer (which I might have to pay) can anybody either tell/show me the way to open that back seat perhaps give me an URL which showing how to do it.
Thank you in advance,
Frank Tran

RE: Replacement of 1999 Seville STS battery
FrankQ,
I have a 98 SLS, I would suppose it's the same.
The front bottom edge of the rear seat just needs a stiff tug upward.
I get on one knee, and pull up with my dominant hand/arm.
The whole bench seat should pop off in one piece.
To replace, put the rear or back of the seat in position first, then push down to lock the seat into place.
NOTE: Make sure the seat belts are pulled out before locking the seat into place.
