if you have a bose now..... you should replace with the same......... i would think the bose system would have different plug-ins, wouldn't you..... being that it has its own amp, and speaker system.....
any case, welcome to the Forum ms jennifer.... i hope we can be of more help down the road... happy new year to you also!!!
hope to see ya 'round

In reply to rickyd, it's just a base (stock) radio thats in the car now I don't have a bose now and the radio I located is also a base radio , only difference is the one I want to put in has a CD, now to slowroll reply, If the dealer has to program it, do you know how much that will cost and does it have to be a dealer. Thanks again everybodythe car is stillin the shop for the trans leak, they seem to think it's the leftfront CV joint but their not sure, why did I know this was going to happen? AnywayHappy New Year to All, Jenny

Cost to program should be no more than 1 labor hour. $$$ per area varies from dealer to dealer and geographic area.

Are you getting a junked radio/cd player? you need to look for UR1 or UR7 - make sure it doesn't have the nav system - and it isn't a Bose - those aren't interchangeable.

I just did something similiar -

My 2K Deville had the AM/FM/Casette and Iupgraded to the AM/FM/Cassette/CDunit for $50.00 off ebay.

In my experience, I found it's a straight forward swap as long as you stay with the same type of radio.
If you have a RDS radio you will need to stay with a RDS, if you have a BOSE you have to stay with a BOSE and if you have the plain (base) radio you have to stay with that type.

You will have to have a Cadillac dealer reprogram the radio to accept the vin from your car so it doesn't lock up. I was charged $31.xx when I had it done.
