problem escalade ext 2002
i have a escalade ext 2002 ,
there is really loud blocking sound when i turn ,it is like the locking differential is not working or blocking,
i already changed the discs in the differential and it was ok for 150 miles but the problem came back,
does anyone has any experience with this problem?
thanks in advance,

Assuming you are referring to the limited slip clutches in the differential housing??? You need a friction modifier added to the oil. If this rig calls for the spiffy 75w140, buy Royal purples 75w140. Which has the friction modifier already in with the gearlube.

thank you for the quick answer,
i talked to my mechanic and he says that when we take the driveshaft for the front axle of the car the problem doesnt occur?
whe changed the oil in the rr differential and put 2 gm friction modifiers in it with the full synthetic 75w140,
could it be a problem in the transfert case?

Hmmm is this a Part time or Full time All Wheel Drive rig?
Didthe previous problem go away when you did the rear differential? and nowsomething iscoming from the transfer case up front?
More information please.

the car is a full time 4 wheel drive, the problem was gone after whe changed the discs in the rear end but only for 200 miles,
it came back the same as before,i dont know if its coming from the transfert case but the really strange thing is that the sound stops the moment i take off the front driveshaft,

also if you turn completely you see the rr tire jump ,with the sound, it looks like the differential is blocking the car when you turn, but then again why does it stop without the front driveshaft, whe also opened the front differential and changed the bearings and seals but there is no limited slip inside ,

The rear differential limited slip assembly could be bad n causing lockupeven if the new fluid and friction modifier is installed. Check GM for a Technical Service Bulletinon this possibly, if there is no info in the forum on this happening.
If you hear no soundafter you remove the front drivershaft, there is probably something in the transfer case that is malfunctioning mechanically. I dont know if these cases are gear driven or chain driven (and whatever else the auto world may have). So I can't give any guesstimation on what could be happening while the vehicle is being driven.
Have you serviced the transfer case? and is there any chance you can listen to the transfer case while the vehicle is in gear,in example,on a lift at idle?
