RE: PMC CODE P085
THANKS FOR RESPONSE.THE TPS WILL ONLY GO ON IN ONE POSITION,SO I DON'T THINK IT'S THE PROBLEM.I THINK THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE IDLE/AIR CONTROL.I TALKED WITH LOCAL CADDY SERVICE DEPT. AND THEY SAID IT MIGHT NEED TO BE RESET.THEY WON'T SAY HOW.THERE'S A BOLT ON THE IAC POST THAT LOOKS LIKE AN ADJUSTER.ANY SUGGESTIONS.

RE: PMC CODE P085
They wont say how because thats how they make their living. Idle air control motors generally cannot be adjusted, but can carbon up and be sticky. Remove it and clean the tapered pintle tip, DO NOT SPRAY THE IAC WITH CLEANER! then spray throttle body cleaner in the hole it goes in and scrub with a tooth brush. There is a learn procedure for retracting and extending the ISC pintle but you need to borrow the factory manual to do it correctly or read the instructions in the box on a new IAC. As the pintle retracts, more air bypasses, raising the idle, extended, it slows up the idle. Please list year and type of Cad in your profile signature. Hopefully someone else here is more familiar with this newer Cad than me and provide clearer steps. Do a "search" for IAC as well.
