i cannot check for codes because the a/c screen and the screen that shows the fuel milage dosent work, and the buttons dont do any thing when you press them. i know the parking brake light, abs, seat belt, anti lock, and air bag light come on but nothing else does. even the service engine soon light doesnt come on

Need as much back ground about car as you can provide. You also need factory service manuals. Why was engine changed and did you take it out the top or drop it out the bottom?

i took the motor out to fix what i thought was a rod knock but it ended up being a timing chain tensoner. i pulled the motor out from the bottom. i dont know to much about the back ground on the car because i bought it to fix it for my wife. when i bought it i drove it home the gauge cluster didnt work and there was a tapping coming from the motor i can not tell you the actual milage on the car. i have been working on the car for about 6 months. i would work on it a little bit here and there. the motor has been out of the car from about june last year until december of last year. (2007 )... in december i finally put the motor back in the car andthats where im at now. i have every thing that i can find hooked up and to there properlocations. i dont know if not having a battery in the car for 6 months cleared any thing in the computer or if there is something else wrong. where would i get factory servicemanuals?
