If the senosr is bad your engine will run poorly. As for interchange yes but same engine and same year. eg) GM used the 3.8 V6 in a ton of models so you wouldn't have to get a Buickif you had a Buick to get a compatible unit as long as it was the same code 3.8 and same year.
