I've got codes, what next?
I have a 2000 DTS with 104,000 miles. I bought it a little over a week ago. So I used the info button/on off button trick to retrieve my codes and this is what they revealed...

AMP B1327 history
AMP U1300 history

My transmission does not go into overdrive. I haven't had time to even get plates on her yet so I dont have much behind the wheel time. But the fluid isn't quite as pink as it probably should be. I also didn't get the owner's manual with the car so I dont know when the tranny is supposed to be serviced but im sure its before 104k, Now Im guessing that it had never been done. Does anybody know of anything online that i could get a manual from? (pdf or otherwise) Its driving me nuts not being able to drive it just sitting pretty in the garage. Can anybody tell me what I might be up against as far as cost, even just a worst case scenario. Id like to be prepared going into this. Thanks so much in advance for any input you might have

Factory manual is available from www.helminc.com, ebay, and used manual vender sites. No codes stored should cause your problem, amp codes sounds like wrong radio in car, p0443 evap system,b0429 right air mix actuator most likely inop.I think you will need to go trans shop to have it checked out.

I do have the wrong radio in, but its an aftermarketdvd system with front and back monitors. which brings up another question, where is the factory amp? and is there a way to tell if its hooked up or even working because the previous owner had an aftermarket subwoofer and amplifier and i wonder if he did anything to the existing amp. Because Im picturing in my head that if you change the head unit to something besides the bose its not going to pick up the factory amp and theres no sound coming out of the factory subwoofer

I pretty smart......Amp mounted behind rear seat back. I doubt it will work with what you got, if it's still there. Right air mix actuator depends on if you want your friends to be comfortable, just make sure you always drive......and it wont be your problem. Radio and amp intergrated into data line will set codes. It is possible if new radio was installed incorrectly - namely tied into data circuits - you could have some bizare type things happenning depending on what radio is doing
