How do I remove the window reg. and motor in the Eldorado?

How do I remove the window reg. and motor in the Eldorado?
I am trying to replace the driver's window motor in my 1991, I realize the rivets have to be drilled out for the regulator. My problem is the window itself; am I supposed to drill out the rivets on the window or does the window slide off the track somehow? Thank you for any help!!
