my wifes 03 escallade wont start, wont turn over. Road side service checked the battery and it is fine. Would not jump start either. Lights come on everything works. Turn the key and nothing. All lights on the dash cycle normal etc. Had to tow it. Key fob locks and unlocks normal also.

 

Starter? Are you trying to fix it yourself or is at shop?

 

it got towed to shop this evening. they wont look at it till tomorrow. It doesnt make any noises or clicks or nothing when the key is turned in the ignition. Can the anti theft have anything to do with it?

 

It is possible, was SERVICE ENGINE SOON light coming on prior to this happening?

 

no. no lights or messages. she turned it off and when she went to start it, nothing. roadside assistance came and tried to jump it off..nothing. Checked the battery and it tested fine. No clicking when turning key. she tried locking and unlocking the car etc. nothing. Lights and everything correct.

 

Security system normally sets codes / turns SES light on when faults are detected. No lights normal it not a security system fault. Has one been added to truck? At this point it's a wait and see unfortuneately.

O.k., the service tech went to start it yesterday morning and of course it didnt start. Then the mechanic got in it and the damned thing started right up. They ran a diagnostic on it and nothing showed up. They dont know what it could be. This was at a Cadillac dealership by the way. The mystery continues
