Hi!

I'm new to the Forum and look froward to catching up on all the news and info here!

I have a question that I hope that someone can help me with:
I recently traded up from the factory am, fm, cd unit toa newfactory unit with all of the above plus Nav. Everything works great - it was pretty much a "plug and play" installation with the addition of the Nav Antenna - this is where my question comes in!
The Nav seems to take a while - sometimes a couple mins and then sometimes 10 or more -before the GPS locates the car and starts tracking it! Is this normal? Is there anything I can adjust / do to help it track quicker!" (I have the antenna mounted on the dash where it meets the center A/C vent on the driver's side!). I know that it is supposed to be mounted under the dash near the driver's side defroster vent on a bracket but it was too hard to get the dash pad off!
Any help or suggestions will be greatfully appreciated!!!!
