Am I the only Cadillac owner (1001 Deville) whose digital speedometer stopped, completely....reads zero. And the trip mileage indicater, the cruise control have also stopped. The rest of the instrument cluster seems okay, the car runs and rides like normal...but the "service engine soon" light is on. I have been driving it like this for three months now, and state inspection is coming up. Can anyone offer a word or two of advice? I can't seem to find help on the computer.

at first hallo from Austria. i hope you can help me to solve my problem. I have to repair a cadillac eldorado 1991 4,8l with the following problem: the speedometer was not working(it shows zero) and so did the automatic transmission. I replaced the speed sensor but it still didnīt work. Then while driving, suddenly the speedometer worked and also the automatic transmission. The next time i started the same: first no speed signal and no shifting - then after a while driving ist start to work properly. I hope you know the problem and tell me where to look. thanks Herbert
