DeVille trunk lid adjustment
#11
That must be it
I was hoping there was a more elegant solution, but I think I can work with that info. Thanks. Also, as a result of your earlier proddings I got looking closer and have discovered that the left rear has been repaired out of square. I spotted a paint edge along the inside of the trunk and that led me to the bottom of the "C" post (?) where I could see the results of a slightly-less-than-perfect weld job. When I went back to the trunk I got looking at the relationship of the upper lip of the tail to the upper lip of the trunk tray (or whatever those pieces are technically called) and things don't quite measure up from the left side as compared to the right side. Oh, well. What do you expect for a $750.00 car. But at least with the info you've provided I should be able to stop the minor leaking and straighten up the appearance of the trunk area.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well...that sux that you found some damage that wasn't properly repaired, but, from the sound of it, it does at least explain the problem.
Shimming the hinge down should help some, anyway.
