Default CTS will not start

Hello, i Have a 2003 CTS, great car and love it, but at any given time it will not start and it always does it with my wife. The first time she called and said that it would not do anything so i had a friend go and give her a jump. When she got home i checked thinking maybe battery, loose terminals or alt not charging. Everthing ok, i started it several times no trouble. That was in early Fall of 08, it has done it 3 times in the past month and each time i try to start it, it start right up. There are no codes and my wife says that all the dash lights and gauges work but nothing when she turns the key. She did mention that when this happens the clock hand on the dash start spinning like crazy. i havn't done anything yet because i am at a loss as what to do. Any help WILL BE APPRICIATED! Thanks!!!! Also i made sure that she had it all the way in Park.

Thanks for the help. It was the battery. My wife had it shopping and it would not start again. she was about 1/2 mile from dealer and had it towed there. they told her it was the positive terminal onthe battery that was leaking and the acid had gotten on or into the wiring which caused the problem. they had to replace the battery, clean the acid up and reprogram the ecm and also install new software. It was $400.00 for everthing. any way it has started for 2 days now. does this sound right?
