My 1987 coupe deville cruise does not engage. I flip the switch to on and the green light comes on. I push the the button to engage but it dosen't engage. Any ideas ?

Is the fuse ok for the cruise circuit?? If the green light is on and system is not controlling the speed, check for a short in the pink wire which is the link between switch and controller. Is the chain taught or slack?? There is a lot of testing that can be done with the different valves and sensors , I could go on for another page or two.

 

where is fuse on 92 allante?

 

I had the same problem and it turned out to be too much slack in the chain. I left a slight amount and now it works well.
