Default Coolant Additive / Bars Stop Leak

The cadillac 4.1, 4.5, and 4.9 engines call for the GM tabs. Is this also true for the Northstar?

I am interested to know if these tabs are prone to restricting heatercore flow. I did a coolant system flush last year and added the tabs. My 4.5 cadillac heat warms up the car but doesn't get piping hot like the newer cars. In the winter I run the heat at 90 degrees max setting to stay warm, never having to move the temp down. Do these cars just don't produce heat that's piping hot?

Is it a common thing to have to reverse flush the heatercores on these motors?

1. yes
