Coil isn't getting power
Hello all,
Its been a while since I've posted. I took on a 2nd job a while back and have little free time.
Anyway, the + side of my coil isn't getting power on my 1964 coupe. When I am cranking the car, she will fire up, but when I release the key, the engine dies. I know that when I am cranking the coil sees a full 12v so the coil is good and 1 of the 2 power wires is hot. I understand when the engine is running the voltage supply is less than 12v. One of the + wires appears to have some sort of built in resistance, but I'm not sure how much. The easiest solution for me is to replace the wire, but I'm sure about the voltage drop. Any ideas?
Thx
