CLEANING MY EGR VALVE

CLEANING MY EGR VALVE
So i got the P036 code and i noticed my RPMs where a little jumpy and my car was jerking at lower speeds, and I've read a post on cleaning the valve. I went to go take it out today and clean out the valve with the carb/choke cleaner when i noticed that the second screw away from the cabin was underneath a metal fuel line. I can take the other one off with the 10 mm socket but this one is under the fuel line and I don't know how to get to it without damaging anything. Here is a picture of what it looks like, but mine has the metal pipes running on the left side. Can anyone help me with this ? What would happen if i drive without my EGR ? Thanks in advance

RE: CLEANING MY EGR VALVE
It's a picture of someone else's EGR valve on their OBD I ETC. I have the same thing BUT it has metal fuel lines blocking one of the bolts to the EGR. I've been told I have to take the engine cover off and to take the fuel lines off so I can remove the bolt from the EGR valve, but I dont want to damage the car. Can anyone help with this ?

RE: CLEANING MY EGR VALVE
So here we go again, I still can't figure out how to remove the fuel lines that are on top of one of the screws of the EGR valve. I noticed today that my ETC rides rough at low speed or at idle and It makes the dashboard lights flicker because the engine RPMs are jumping (not by a lot, but I can see it on the techometer). How should I remove them safely to clean out my EGR? (I have the metal fuel lines after the recall)
Thanks
Thanks
