I recently acquired a low mileage 1999 De Ville Contour. My son pressed the "valet" button inside the glove box, now I can't get the glove box open. The round door key turns the glove box lock, but it won't allow me to open the glove box. The remote gas cap and trunk open work just fine...I just can't open the glove box. Suggestions? Thanks

 

Latch is broke, glove box can be opened sometimes with minimal damage. My suggestion is to take dealer there is normally someone there who will know how to open it.

 

Also, if you have AAA, they will get it open under the policy for LOCKSMITH services.

If the valet button was pushed then the valet key will open it.
Im surprised the trunk still opens though. I thought that the valet button disabled that as well.
