I hear its a must to get Brembo Brakes on aftermarket wheels. What about on 24"...what will be the pros and cons of keeping the stock brakes?

Default RE: Brembo Brakes?

The stock brakes are fine and work well if you are driving normal manner including a couple of very hard (maximum)consecutive braking situations. The brakes will be fine and work well as engineered to perform to this level by the manufacturer. The brakes don't care what wheels what wheels are surrounding them. In fact, the OEM brakes are likely to perform better with a larger wheel due to the reduced weight of rubber and increased contact patch to the pavement. Cheap 22"-24" cast wheels are lightweight even though they cost $$$$.If you feel a need to get Brembo brakes for some reason, Get ready to pay to pay. Yes they are some of the best engineered brakes in the world. I have to think the motivation to aquire Brembo is in vain. Have you considered any other high performance/racing manufacurers such as Alcon, AP, Wilwood, Outlaw ect...? Do you no the pro's and con's of maintinence of multi-pistoned calipers/rotors? Do you know what a floating rotor is? Have you ever boiled the brake fluid before? How many times a day do you take turn 5 at Road America? All these questions and more need to be answered if youneed Brembo's. Now, you have to look at yourself in the mirror again, brush again, comb, and say I amthatBrembo dude! Who cares if it cost $8000 for brakes & $4000+ for wheels & tires.
