99 Cadillac Sts electric problems
I just bought a 99 sts today and when I was driving home the security light came on randomly every couple of minutes or so and a circle light with TP? in it came on. Any ideas what these mean? Also the cd player wont insert the cd player all the way and the cd changer says cd changer error when I try to load a disc. It also says service suspention system, any ideas?
battery is under rear seat....... tug up on front of seat, at bottom. it'll come up. disconnect negitive for aprox 15 to 20 min so to re-boot all electrics.....
as i remember the only lights with circles are abs light, and parking brake light. check that "tp" as you say, are you sure of that?
as far as the cd...... do you have a changer? or is it in dash? is it an after market player, or a factory system?

The light is TC, the cd changer is in the center console. I got the in dash cd player to work but it will cut out for a second every couple of minutes. Everything is stock.

I tried the switch and removing the battery cable for 60 minutes, no luck. When I start the car it says service suspention system then after about 5 minutes the TC light comes on. Today the ABS light came on after about 30 minutes but then went off. I noticed the trunk leaked and water drained in the rear passenger side foot well. Is it possible that the water could have damaged something of should I have the codes checked?
you have to give us codes......yes. as far as the trunk leak, well.... you have a couple modules on pass side seat back, right above the wheel well. the RIM, and i believe the BCM, plus, on floor, under rear seat a large fuse station, battery, and grounds all could have been in line of the water leak.
run codes and let the forum know what they are, and look for corrosion/ water mold on electrics.
i dont believe your problem is in that mix of stuff......... though, not sure. get us codes
