99 cadillac Eldorado
Hello Techs. I am new to the site. I bought this 99 cadillac eldorado. The story is that owner was mad and tried to peel out and the car quit. The security/theft light came on. They could not get it started since it quit. They towed it to a mechanic shop. The mechanic said it was the body control module. Told them it would cost about $900. They could not come up with them money. The female that tried to peel out in the car, her father works with me. I bought the car. I found a body control module, they installed it and still does not work. They told me to take it to the dealer. Supposedly the mechanic shop brought in a cadillac tech to check the keys and ignition. I am debating on whether to tow it to the dealer or to the house and try myself. the car is a 99 Eldorado, V8 auto with 105k miles. Any help would be appreciated. I have been checking the forum and sounds like I need to start with the codes.Thx.
