Default 2004 Cadillac CTS Start Failed

My 04 CTS shows a Start Disabled / Remove key from ignition on information screen. Has this happened to anyone else and please tell me. What did you do? My car will not start.

Something went wrong with the security system on your car. Try the other key before you do anything else. Did you lose a key? Had a new one made and did not get the key learned to the system. If your other key works try this, with the key that is good, meaning the car starts, turn the key to the on position, not start, just on. After the little security light goes out, looks like a lock, you have 10 seconds to learn the next key. again, put good key in, turn to on, wait for security light to go out, remove key, put new key in or the one that doesn't work in the ignition and turn ON and wait for security light to go out. This should work. Other wise you ECM and or the vehicle theft module went bad.

Good Luck

Thanks for your response, I tried that but still no cigar. I took it to the dealer and it had to be reprogrammed. They charged me less than $100.00 so I was pretty happy. The mechanic said he did not know what caused it but it lost all program of security theft system.

Thanks again for your reply.
