Have a 2003 STS, 36k mi, both front struts have gone bad. Car has never been abused and driven on normal roads. Does sit in garage for 5-6 mo. w/o use.

Question: Have seen on this site front struts replacements that have a selenoid to replace electronic struts. Has anyone tried this and if so where can one buy this product? Dealer wants $2,000.00 or so to replace w/ factory struts. This could save mucho $ if it works.
