I got a set of Gabrielles with a resistor or something like that, that went in line and stopped the codes ont the dash and they were under $500 for the pair if I remember right.. It's been awhile..They give a nice ride as well..They came from the Boston area. Try a google search. I think that's how I found them.. Ron

I see on ebay they are $849 for an asembly of two for the rear (2002 sts anyways) that I need and I do see them elsewhere for $250 or so a piece but they are not the same anddisable the air ride. Not sure I want to do that I might bite it and pay for the real deal and then hope they give me the good ride

I have had some problems with the struts on my vehicle as well, I get the whole "Service Ride Control" message on the OBD system quite a bit. I checked into it with some local people back when I was in Washington and they mentioned something about replacing the electronic struts with basic struts, and emplacing some sort of over-ride into the system to prevent codes from appearing. The "new" struts would have been significantly cheaper. Unfortunately that's all I remember, it was a long time ago and I never did have it done as I was stationed elsewhere before I could save the money.

Probably doesn't help you much, but I'm just saying there could be an alternative for you. I wish I remember who it was that I talked to.

Passive struts are commonly available now and they come with built-in resistors to fool the computer. They are drop-in replacements and come with electrical plugs and the rear ones will do the leveling too. I still have the original active struts, but hear people raving about Arnott Inc. (supporter of this Forum, http://www.arnottindustries.com/) and they often sell them on eBay as well.
