Default 2003 cts oil pan stripped threads

The threads on my oil pan for my 2003 cts have become stripped over the years. What is my next best fix? I do not want to replace the oil pan it is very costly. Can I go to the next size up drain plug for the oil pan? If so, do I have to re-tap it or just use a self tapping plug? Any ideas?
Thank you

You can get 1 size bigger self tapping drain plug from any auto parts store. Just make sure you start it straight in the pan using a socket and ratchet.
