WELL I GOT A 2001 DEVILLE WITH 59K MILES. LAST NIGHT ALL 3 ABS, TRAC CONTROLL, AND BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WHEN I STARTED IT AND THEY STAYED ILLUMINATED. WHEN SHUT BACK OFF JUST THE TRAC CONTROLL LIGHT CAME ON. THEN SHUT BACK OFF THEY ALL CAME BACK ON. MY QUESTION IS WHERE SHOULD I START. I GOT ACCESS TO A TECH 2 BUT NOT TILL MONDAY. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE I HAVE A FUSE BLOWN? TO ADD I KNOW THIS VEHICLE HAD THE TRAC CONTROLL MODULE REPLACED JUST BEFORE I PURCHASED IT. THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR INPUT.

 

Traction control uses the ABS system so they are related. ABS sensor?

 

possibly a brake switch or a wheel speed sensor. did not see a whole lot of poblems with abs on these cars.

 

It can be the brake switch or a wheel speed sensor. Also check your brake rotors it can warp, causing a light vibration in the steering wheel. This vibration may occur when you apply your brakes, or in severe cases, it may be felt even when you aren't using your brakes.Steering shimmy is annoying, and it'll only get worse over time, so replace your brakes and get the problem taken care of.

 

how can you check the wheel sensors? i have a 2003 deville and i get all those warning also especially when it is raining and i go over a rough surface. abs, traction and stability warnings come on any suggestions?

 

same scenario with my 99sts anti-lock, and traction light comes on.....cause. open line, bad grounds under hood.......cleaned and coated....all working well. i have it in the sts section if you want to see
