Default 1996 sts cooling system problem

Hi,
I'm thinking of purchasing a 96 STS the price is really good but the car heats up after driving for a while and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas what it could be and what the average running temp is on the 4.6L northstar? Unfortunately thats all the info I have right now.
thanks
Adam

Normal runnign temp should be around 210 it can rise 225 or so if it is hot and you are in stop and go traffic. If it goes higher then that. then chances are you have a problem. Head gaskets and head bolts pulling out of the block are a common problem on the year of the engine you are referring to.
