Default 1991 cadillac brougham window regulator

Looking for some guidance... My passenger front window goes up and down in small increments. Sometimes i have to wait a few minutes in between attempts to raise the glass. I was told to replace the window regulator so I just purchased the AC Delco #12497971 regulator. Has anyone run into this issue in the past. How difficult is it to replace? Ive tried to hold the window switch down or up while closing the door to possibly free the regulator (motor). any other tips or words of advice before i take my door panel apart? thank you!

I did one years ago. It wasn't a horrible job, but it did take some time, so bring along your patience. What seems puzzling to me is how it's behaving. Almost like there is a breaker tripping somewhere. There is no thermal overload in that motor, so why it stops for a while is a bit of mystery. You were wise to buy an AC Delco unit. The China Special units are cheap, but you would be repeating the process after maybe a year.

My 1991 is doing the same thing. What did you do to fix this?
