I have a 03 Deville with a 4.6L, 275 hp engine. When in park and I rev up the engine I have a miss with the petal half way down. If I keep doing it the engine shuts down. In drive I can floor it and the car takes off like a rock with no miss. Ran the codes and nothing. Any ideas?

 

Seems the rev limiter shuts the engine to prevent damage. Apparently you don't rev up a 03 in park.
