Default 2011 cts v rear end noise

I love my black diamond 2011 sedan. BUT I am very disappointed in the German built rear end as I understand most of them whine when under little load from 40 to 65 mph. Did GM correct this problem in the third generation and if so will the new model rear end bolt in?

The diffs are hit and miss and the weakest link in the powertrain. Because the diffs are almost always serviced by replacement I would expect the gen3 will be superior to the early ones. Particularly as Cadillac has moved away from FWD. IDK if the gen3 would fit a gen2.
