Default 97 sts oil burning

I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a fix for my 97 sts burning oil besides getting a new engine. It goes thru about 2 quarts of oil every 1500 miles. I would also like to know if the engine will last as long as I keep adding oil to it?

2 quarts is not to much for an high performance engine like the northstar. performance engines need more oil, thats all

Yeah, that's what GM says about oil usage [:@]. You can have the engine decarboned by the dealer ($$$) or decarbon it yourself by putting the pedal to the metal in 2nd a few times, and in general, by driving it like a maniac.

Just keep adding oil to it (when the Check Oil Level comes on you're about 1.5qt low), you can buy lots of oil for the price of a NS engine. Most importantly, make sure your cooling system is maintained. It's about time to drain/refill it with Dexcool and add 3 GM supplement tablets or two tubes of BarsLeak Golden Seal powder.

I have to fill my oil about once every 1500 miles. And as far as what belagatyo said, I already drive my car like a maniac . I just never understood why Cadillac never came out with a good way to fix that problem for normal Joe's that just wanted to have fun with their vehicles. Or at least a way that's less expensive than what they are asking for.

The world may never know.
