Hello, I am new to this forum as well as Cadillacs. My girlfriend has an 01 STS and for the past 2 years its been a yard ornament. I was not "with" her when it decided to quit working, her ex boyfriend was driving it, but anyways he told her that the car just made a noise, shut off, and never worked again( I know thats a horrible explantion of things) but I didnt expect much info from an angry ex. So I've been researching common problems for the car and came across alot of people having bad crank sensors. From the sound of it i think this could be the problem since the car has just over 100k on it. I want to fix it for her for Christmas since her 2001 Malipoo is a junker. I just want to make sure I'm not gonna dig in the engine and realize the motor is dead. Any info on what else I should check?? I also heard the burn alot of oil so theres a possibility it ran dry and seized, but like I said I have no idea, any help will be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the gigantic post and Thank!!
