srx does weird stuff.
First off, let me start by saying my wife and I love our new 2008 srx4 sport v6. I t is what a luxury crossover caddy should be and any suv type car should be: but we have ben having some issues with it that have been quite bothersome and i have come to this forum to perhaps receive some input as to resolve these issues.
1.)Usually at every third startup the abs light, stablitrak light, and antiskid/traction light come on showing there is a problem with the system. I pull over turn the car off and on and the computer resets itself until the next time.
2.)Everytime we go for a drive and have the XM radio on the radio likes to jump back and forth between stations on it's own. Also when there is a CD in the player it sometimes skips or goes back to the beginning of a song or the cd.
3.) There is also a very annoying squeeking sound coming from the rear passenger seat whenever we are driving. It sounds like chipmunks fighting. When this seat is folded down there is no sound only when it is up.
I have tried to get the dealer to fix these issues but they suck.
Any input would be gladly appreciated.
Our srx has only 1500 km on it and we hate to drive it because of these issues. Thus it sits in our driveway most of the time and we drive our grand prix.
Please help if yu have had these same issues.
thanks,
john

RE: srx does weird stuff.
contact Cadillac customer sevice and let them know your problems. i have a 2004 that i bought as a demo with 3500 miles and i had some complaints and they helped out and alsolocated other dealers if i wasn't happy with the place i bought it from. to methe cd player sounds like something is loose if it's skipping. i don't know why the xm radio would drift. by you restarting the car and all the lights resetting the dealermight not be able to find the problem. bring it to them with all the warning lights on and don't shut it let them find the problem, demand that they find it. good luck

The abs issue will be stored in the ABS modules memory. Your dealer if you chose to except them, should be able to get the codes using there Tech II and then fix that issue.
The XM issue is strange. Does it change stations on the radio display? If so, something is asking the radio to change the station. The steering wheel control, maybe, loose connection---no. Could be the XM module. Again your dealer should know how to look at each module and fix this issue.
Your Rattle. Sorry to here that. I work in the plant that made your SRX. I wish I could look at this car and help you but I can't, unless you live near Lansing. Maybe you and a friend could drive around some rough roads and have your friend drive and you fix this rattle. You sit in the right rear seat, listen for the sound you are hearing, then fix it. Use some WD40 using a rag to protect the carpet. Use some foam stuff, velcro patches anything, You can do this. The rig needs to be driven. It is a sweet vehicle. Again sorry you are having issue. If you need any help you can call me and I can give you more ideas. 517-885-7483 and ask for Bill
