The engine in our 2010 SRX is rather noisy. Sounds like lifter noise or a rattle like a fan blade. It now has about 4200 km on the odometer.Took it to the dealer the other day and the Service Advisor claims the oil level is probably low. He claims this is a performance engine and will burn oil. It is a 3.0 liter and I wouldn't classify it as a performance engine. My previous 3.6 liter in an 06 CTS had a lot more performance than this one.

He checks the oil and it is down a half liter or so, fills it and the noise seems to be reduced. Upon returning home I found the noise to have returned.

Any other owners of 3.0 liter engines experience the noise or oil burn issue?
