Default fuel rail replacement GDI

Can anyone explain to me why the small Y fuel rail that goes to the high pressure pump then splits to the rails, MUST be replaced if removed??? Its a solid stainless steel line with nothing inside. But every single place I look says it MUST be replaced if undone. And at $101 for a 6" line I would love to know what it does that is so special?? I cannot find an explanation. But GM says it MUST, Orielly auto says it must online, and the Mitchel instructions say it must. Anybody? It seems this site is a little weak in experts, any GM techs? I have a no start issue and a Low Fuel Rail Pressure code so I am wondering could this solid line really be messing it up as I had the heads off on a complete teardown.

High fuel pressure causing fuel leak, resulting in fire. You could try to re-use it if it leaks, it will need replace it.
