Is there a guide to tell me how to test a coil on a 2004 SRX? Every time I get a misfire code, I change the plug and coil. I'd like to check the coils before replacing.

Why not just get a spark plug checker? They are cheap and you can test if the coil is generating a spark or not, just keep a good spark plug handy for the coil test. If the coil sparks well, the spark plug is probably the issue, otherwise you have bigger problems (wires, ECU etc)
